When Katelyn’s family asked me to photograph a surprise 85th Birthday for their Grandma, which would essentially be a family reunion for their extended family, I was honored and excited. Not only did it bring together 4 generations of the Jones family, from Grandma Pat to a little Great Grandson, Calvin (oh man so cute), I got to get to know my friend’s roots and part of the family she grew up with much better. A few of my things I learned from spending the day with the Rosslers/Jones’s: 1.) Ribs + Photography are a tough but deeeelicious mix 2.) 40 year friendships are beautiful 3.) It’s so important to stay close with your family, because 85 years later they’ll still travel many miles to come together to celebrate you and shower you with love.
